Wrestling Unwrapped: ECW Heatwave 1998

ECW Heatwave 1998

As we approach the dog days of summer, WU decided to once again utilize their idea they used earlier in 2017, and relive the PPVs of the Big 3 from August of 1998. And what better to start the hottest month of the year than with ECW Heatwave 1998?

Severse huge matches await the Hara Arena, including the main event, where Buh Buh Ray, D-Von, and Big Dick, the Dudleys, will take on Sandman, Little Spike Dudley, and Tommy Dreamer. Can Tommy gain revenge after the 3D put Beulah out of wresting? Or will the Dudleys put even more carnage next to Beulah in the hospital?

And, the tag titles are on the as Sabu and RVD put the belts up against the Japanese icons of Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki (bless you…). Can the dysfunctional tag champs pull another victory from somewhere? Or will they finally be overtaken by the Japanese legends?

And, as always, stick around for the best and worst match and cash and trash of the show in our big finish. ECW starts the August 98 reviews in a hot way with their highest regarded show ever, as Wrestling Unwrapped reviews ECW Heatwave 1998.

About Wrestling Unwrapped

This is what happens when two guys who collect wrestling DVDs and love to talk, get together to talk about wrestling DVDs. The results are rarely pretty. Patrick rarely shuts up, and Harry is full of one liners. This leads to constant badgering about the best and worst in wrestling.

Patrick Ketza

Growing up in Chicago, Patrick has never been away from wrestling. From WWE, ROH, AAW, SHIMMER, and everything in between, he’s had at least a taste of everything. More into the Chicago indie circuit, following SHIMMER and AAW, Patrick still never shies away from making his opinions heard to all who will listen. Patrick also serves as the W2Mnet Wrestling Senior Editor and helps organize things in the section.

Harry Broadhurst

Harry Broadhurst is a product of Youngstown, Ohio. He started watching wrestling at the age of six and attended his first live event at the age of nine. Harry’s been obsessed with this psuedosport every since. He also enjoys long walks on the beach and busting Patrick Ketza’s stones on Wrestling Unwrapped.
