The 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Game was one of the best, if not, the best College Football games to ever be played. It provided excitement all throughout. Something, no one really saw coming either.

The 2016 game between Alabama and Clemson was such an exciting game. When it was official that these two teams would play again for a national title, the expectations weren’t so high. No one thought they could live up to what went down last season.

Throughout the entire week, many said that Alabama would win easily behind their defense. They showed how strong they were in their win over Washington in the College Football Playoff semifinal.  This led to the reduction in hype from last season.

Well, these two teams completely surpassed last year’s game and almost any College Football game ever played. The game started out ugly, as Alabama rolled to a 14-0 lead.

Clemson had to battle back for the rest of the game. They even trailed by 10 points in the fourth quarter. That’s when the magic happened. After a defensive battle for almost 10 minutes, Clemson took the lead. All their defense had to do was hold them for one more possession. Unfortunately, they allowed Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts to score on a 20 plus yard run.

After Alabama scored, Clemson found themselves trailing with just 2:08 left. Then, it was here when this game kicked into another gear.

Clemson gets down to the Alabama two yard line with just a few seconds remaining. This is when the realization came that this game was better than last year’s.

The last-second touchdown by Hunter Renfrow to win it all for Clemson put the icing on the cake. Unbelievably, this year’s National Championship game rematch was a better game than the first meeting. Not only that, but it turned out to be one of the best college football games ever played.
