On this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX hosts Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison are joined by Randy Isbelle in discussing two games he’s been reviewing. First is Randy’s thoughts on Bloober Team’s The Medium. He discusses what he likes from the gameplay, setting, and how the dual world aspect doesn’t hit as great as intended. Overall, he did find it enjoyable and liked the game. Randy has also started tinkering with Little Nightmares II on Xbox Series X and he talks about his thoughts so far on the game.
Sean also tested out Amazon Luna on PC with Control and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. This also creates an avenue for Marc and Randy to talk about Control: Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5 too.
Before Randy departs, the guys ask him about his thoughts on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order since it is the next game he’s discussing with Jens Dietrich on their podcast Chapter Select. Plus, Randy watched the Star Wars films for the first time and his favorite may surprise you. Next, they also get into some casting news with the leads for Last of Us the TV Series and Jack Black’s casting as Claptrap for the Borderlands film.
Marc gives his initial thoughts on Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and how it may not be a bad idea to have a more open-world Mario game. This leads to a discussion on what could be included in a Legend of Zelda 3D collection for the 35th anniversary as well.
Other things discussed: Dualsense controllers also drift and a possible lawsuit could be brewing. Kingdom Hearts games are coming to PC via the Epic Games store. CD Projekt Red gets hacked. E3 going digital. Warner Bros. patenting the “Nemesis” system, and more.

Sean Garmer has a long history with video games, since childhood. But truly, things got serious when he discovered Pokemon on the Gameboy, and thus his Japanese RPG fandom was born. Sean has channeled that love of games into reviewing them. He also analyzes the games industry on the Video Games 2 the MAX podcast and writes on various sites. Sean pretty much plays any kind of game nowadays, but he still prefers his first love, the JRPG.
Marc Morrison brings years of experience writing about games (and of course, playing them) to Video Games 2 the MAX. He currently writes a Top 8 column every week at 411mania and also reviews games. Marc plays all different kinds of games and takes analyzing them to heart.
Jens is co-host and editor of the podcast Chapter Select and an occasional contributor to Video Games 2 the MAX. While he grew up on 90s PC adventure games and flight simulators, nowadays his preferences have shifted towards Soulslikes, JRPGs, and weird kusoge.
Randy Isbelle is a fan of platformers and sports games mostly but enjoys games from almost every genre. He’s also a lifelong New York Jets fan as well. Randy has a history of writing reviews for various websites and has a collection of over 2,000 video games. The dude knows his stuff. When he’s not writing or playing games, he’s spending time with his two children.
